Clyde Woodrow Wilson, age 87, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away on June 18, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1937, in Oswego, Tennessee to Eldred and Marie Wilson.

Clyde earned his business degree from the University of Albuquerque in New Mexico. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force, earning the Bronze Star Medal for his service. During his distinguished career in the United States Air Force, Clyde took great pride in his involvement with the SR-71 Blackbird program and its remarkable success. His service took him around the world, reflecting a deep commitment to duty and country. A true patriot, Clyde was profoundly proud of his military career and the opportunity to serve the nation he loved. After his military career, Clyde became president and co-owner of the Lipper Stutsman Company, where he worked for over 20 years before retiring.

Clyde was married to the love of his life and devoted personal RN, Mrs. Glenda Wilson. Their bond was a testament to true commitment, built on love, care, and unwavering support throughout the years. Clyde was affectionately known as “Pop” by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Clyde had a passion for restoring classic cars and trucks, a hobby that reflected his patience, skill, and eye for detail. He was especially proud of his meticulously restored 1936 Ford truck, which earned him multiple honors. Among his proudest achievements was being named International Class Champion at the 1998 World of Wheels held in the New Orleans Superdome, where he also won Best Display and Best in Class.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Wilson; sister, Ganita Light of New York; best buddy that was like a son, Gene Austin; daughters, Kim Cooksey of Shreveport, LA, Tracy Green of Shreveport, LA (Kyle), and Vickie Hoffman (Robert); grandchildren, Sean Honan (Noelle), Tyler Green, Westin Green, and Kyle Mitchell (Lainey); great-grandchildren, Beau Honan, Livia Honan, Tucker Honan, Mia Mitchell, and Grant Mitchell.

A visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of life service to follow at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118 in the large sitting room. Officiating will be Bro. John Harp, associate pastor of Brookwood Baptist Church. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. P.V. Blanchard, M.D., Dr. Rusty Fileccia, and Dr. Scott Howard for their compassionate care, dedication, and support throughout Clyde’s journey. Their kindness and professionalism meant so much during a difficult time.
