A graveside service for Clyde Henry Sims, 86, will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be a Chaplain with the Barksdale Airforce Base Honor Guard.

Clyde was born on September 12, 1937 to Harry C. Sims and Jeanette Hazel Sims in Sheridan, Missouri and passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Clyde led a remarkable life filled with significant achievements and contributions. His dedication to serving his country was evident through his military service. Clyde joined The United States Army in 1956 and was stationed at Ft. Sheridan, Illinois. His exceptional skills as a sharpshooter and marksman earned him well-deserved medals during his tenure. Subsequently, he transitioned to The United States Air Force in 1959, where he served in various locations such as Arizona, Texas, Guam, and Vietnam during the war. His commitment to duty was exemplary, leading to his retirement at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1977 with an honorable discharge.

In 1960, Clyde married his beautiful bride, Conna Sims. She was always there to support him in all his endeavors. Beyond his military career, Clyde pursued diverse interests that brought him joy and fulfillment. He found pleasure in collecting classic cars, motorcycles, and vintage firearms, showcasing his passion for all things historical and intricate. Clyde’s legacy will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Conna Sims, and his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Troy Sims and wife, Deborah; stepdaughter, Cheri Morgan; grandchildren, Kristin Meza and husband, Sam and Jason Sims and six great-grandchildren.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the United States Military.
