Clyde D. "Doug" McCann

Clyde D. “Doug” McCann, 76, of Minden, Louisiana went to his heavenly home on July 27, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He was born September 1945 in Minden, Louisiana to the late Hoyle and Aline McCann. In 1962, Doug and his new bride Betty traveled to Texas where Doug joined the Army and completed his GED. After a few years in the Army Doug taught himself how to program computers which would pave the way for the rest of his career.

Doug loved helping people, fishing, playing music and chess. When not working, he could be found playing guitar, harmonica or autoharp for his grandchildren.

Above all Doug loved his wife and family.

Meeting him at the Pearly Gates are his son, brother, sister, parents, father, and mother-in-law, brothers- in law, and nephews.

He is survived by is wife of 59 years, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-law, brother-in-law,

Nieces, nephews, many other family and friends and mother of grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2022, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden. Officiating the services are Bro. Chet Johnson and Bro. Richard Methvin.
