Cleo Louise Burns Cook was born in Smackover, Arkansas, on April 30, 1949, and she passed away on April 8, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana. A memorial service will be held for Cleo at 2:00 on Friday, April 30, 2021, at St. John's Episcopal Church, in Minden, Louisiana. Cleo moved to Minden at the age of nine, attending schools in Minden and then Louisiana Tech. After marrying Jack Cook, Cleo joined St. John's Episcopal Church, where she remained deeply committed for over 52 years. Throughout those years, her service to St. John's included Eucharistic Lay Reader, Minister of Ceremonies, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, EYC sponsor, and member of Episcopal Church Women, Altar Guild, and Daughters of the King. She was always active in Parish Life ministries. Serving St. John's was one of Cleo's greatest devotions and privileges. Cleo was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered as a kind, well-respected lady filled with poise and grace. Her beautiful spirit will continue to influence the many lives she touched. Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gilbert Cook, her son, Jack Craig Cook, and her parents, George Anderson Burns and Lois Marguerite Simms. She is survived by her daughter, Holly Cook Woodard and husband Matthew, granddaughter Joni Camille Woodard, granddaughter Hannah Rose Woodard, and her sister, Kathy Simms Storey and husband Greg. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Pattie Odom and husband Charlie, Cindy Price and husband Tad, and Diane Inabnett, and two nieces, four nephews, four great nieces, and seven great nephews.
