Clemmie R. Permenter McCoy went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 7, 2025 at 96 years of age.
Clemmie, known to all as “MeMe”, is preceded in death by her parents, C.C. Permenter and Virgie Wimberly Permenter and a brother, T.W. Permenter and wife Shirley of Logansport. She is survived by her brother, David K. Permenter and wife Brenda of Grand Cane. Her children are daughter, Carla M. Spears and husband Wayne of Joaquin, TX; son, Earl McCoy, Jr. (Mac) and wife Marsha of Stanley; four grandchildren, Dea Henry and husband Kerry of Henderson, TX, Earl (Monty) McCoy and wife Kayla of Stanley, Ali and husband Jason of Bossier City, and Miranda Blount and husband Dane of Stanley; great-grandchildren, Bartley Henry and wife Megan, Nikolas Henry and wife Callie, Kenzy Castanéda and husband Juan, Carlton McCoy and wife Brittany, Jali Stafford and husband Peyton, Rylie Blount, and Jaret Chandler; great-great grandchildren, Landry Henry, Leland Henry, Ridley Henry, Lottie Henry, Livie Castanéda, Leonard Henry, Lennon Henry, and Valerie Castanéda.
MeMe was a resident of Stanley and long-time member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Stanley, before she resided at The Glen in Shreveport, Louisiana. MeMe was an organist for decades at her church, and active in her community where she was a commissioner. MeMe will be remembered for her zest for life and her generous heart. She will be missed by all, especially her family.
A visitation will be held at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Stanley from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025. Service will be at the church at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Tull. Honoring MeMe as pallbearers will be Dane Blount, Jason Chandler, Earl (Monty) McCoy, Carlton McCoy, Jaret Chandler, and Cane McCoy.
The family suggests that any donations be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church or the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, 352 Highway 763, Mansfield, LA 71052.
