SHREVEPORT, LA - A Memorial service celebrating the life of Clemit David Young, 78, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Noel Memorial United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mimi McDowell officiating.
Clemit was born May 22, 1940 in Shreveport, LA to Lena Mason Young and Mr. Young and passed away July 20, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. He retired from the Sheraton Hotel as a chef. Clemit was an avid cook, picture taker, and reader. He was very active in his church and loved his family. In his final days of his life he found joy in working with the outreach ministry at Noel Methodist Church Food Pantry.
Clemit was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Pauline Youggar Mason and grandfather, brothers, Samie Young and Marvin Tharp, sister-in-law, Earnestine Tharp, cousin, Pauline Norris, and niece, Phyllis Tharp. Left to cherish his memory are his sons, David Clemit Young and Quincy Young of Shreveport, LA; daughter, Ena Meschelle Young Brown and husband Walter; and step-daughter, Felicia Renee Walpool Shepherd of Shreveport, LA; previous wife, Diane Walpool Young of Shreveport, LA; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces, Delores and Dorine Tharp of Dallas, TX; cousins, Todd DeNeil Norris and wife Tonya of Dallas, TX, Tory Devon Norris of Shreveport, LA; and a host of extended family and friends.
