Claudie Jones, Sr.

A graveside service for Claudie Jones, Sr., 96, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022 at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Joe Aulds.

Claudie was born on June 27, 1926 in Negreet, Louisiana to Oliver and Annie Jones and passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Shreveport.

Claudie was married to the love of his life, Mildred Blackmon Jones, for 50+ years. He served in the Army before being honorably discharged due to injury which earned him the Purple Heart. He was the owner of three Texaco gas stations, was employed at Mid Continent Steel and Riley-Beaird, and was the owner/operator of  Jones Wrecker Service for 56 years. He was a 32^nd degree Shriner and a Mason.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Claude Jones, Jr. and wife, Susan of Keithville, Dennis Jones and wife, Janice of Shreveport, and Brenda Alexander and husband, Bobby of Woodward, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other extended family members; and his special fur babies and constant companions, Gator Boy, Danny Boy, Bonnie and Bandit.

Honoring Claudie as pallbearers will be Landon Johnson, Brian Wilson, Adam Wilson, Darrell Vance, Steven Jones and Gerald Skyles. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Hunter Johnson.

Claudie will be greatly missed by his family but we are comforted in knowing he is together again with his beloved wife, Mildred, and at home with his Lord and Savior.
