Claude L. "Johnny" Johnson, Jr.

Johnny Johnson entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 24, 2026. Johnny was born on September 30, 1961, to Gloria and C.L. Johnson of Minden, Louisiana. He graduated from Minden High School and then obtained a degree in accounting from Louisiana State University Shreveport. He later found his true calling in helping the elderly as the Executive Director of the Webster Parish Council on Aging. Johnny married his wife Becky in 1987 and recently celebrated 39 years together in July of 2026. He will be remembered for being a faithful servant to the Lord, a devoted husband, an exceptional father, and a deeply loved grandfather (JJ”). His servant heart was evident in the countless ways he served the Lord and his beloved community of Minden.

Other than working with and for the elderly, Johnny was a long-term volunteer at Minden’s Recreational Center and an active elder member of the Minden Presbyterian Church. He found immense joy in helping others and led his family with humility, integrity, and unwavering faith. His greatest desire was not simply that his children and grandchild succeed in life, but that they know and follow Christ. Johnny is survived by his mother Gloria Johnson and father C.L. Johnson of Minden; the love of his life and wife, Becky Johnson of Minden; daughter Morgan Johnson of Minden; son Jacob Johnson and wife Ireland; grandson Wilder Johnson of Minden; sister Jana Watson and husband Rick of Minden; brother Gary and wife Karey of Minden; brother Derrek Johnson and wife Mia of Plano; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service for Johnny is on August 27, 2026, at the Minden Presbyterian Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of floral donation, the family kindly asks they are sent to the Webster Parish Council on Aging or Minden Presbyterian Church.
