Clara L. Denton, 94, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on February 11, 1927 to Frank and Mary Keup in Aurora, Illinois. She grew up in the Pigeon Hill district and graduated from the old Madonna High School. She was involved with the Bataria Ladies of the Moose and was president at one time. She would always help on the Friday night dinners.
Clara worked at the old Stephens & Adams plant in Aurora, Illinois which was a manufacturing facility. She also worked as a punch press operator and an office worker during her life. She moved from Aurora, Illinois to Shreveport in 1994 to be nearer her family living here. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church in Shreveport where she was a member of the choir, Eucaristic Minister, Lecture, and helped out whenever an extra hand was needed.
Clara is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, six brothers, two sisters, and two husbands, Marion Sartain and William Denton. Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Sharon Eads, Linda Kerr, Kay LaBorde; nine grandchildren, Justin Eads (Sarah), Michelle Bass (Rick), Dawn Johnson (Chris), Kristin Ravelo (Tony), Jeremy McCrimmon (Kelli), Tera LaBorde, James Milliron (Mary), Brooke LaBorde, and Logan LaBorde (Saraphena); 26 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
