Cindy Davis

Cindy Davis, 69 of Waskom, Texas entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2023. She was born on January 9, 1954, in Marshall, Texas to Reece Chambers and Willie Mae Kenley.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services honoring the life of Cindy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023, at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Buddy Killion. Interment will be held at Restland Cemetery in Waskom, Texas.

Cindy graduated from Waskom High School. She married her loving husband and soulmate, Douglas Davis, Jr. on December 9, 1978. Cindy was the manager of Kelley’s Truck Stop for over 40 years. Later, she worked at Tyson’s as a production line worker and then retired from Hall’s Grocery as a cashier. She has worked her entire life, starting at fifteen years old. Cindy could be described as a very independent, loving, caring, genuine sweet woman who had an infectious smile and loved to laugh. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Reece Chambers; stepmother, Georgia Chambers; stepfather, Ben Kenley; mother, Willie Mae Kenley; and brother-in-law, Gary Hamby. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Douglas Davis, Jr.; sisters, Sheila Hamby, and Sue Whitlow and husband Wright; brother, Danny Kenley and wife Charmaine; stepson, Sonny Simmons and wife Elena; and grandsons, Dalton Simmons and Lanson Simmons.

Honoring Cindy as pallbearers will be Dickie Doughty, Bubba Gilcrease, Jerry Gilcrease, Jr., Dalton Simmons, Paul Tabolinsky, and David Calhoun. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Sonny Simmons and Lanson Simmons.

Following the burial, Cindy’s family invites all guests for food and fellowship at the Waskom Community Center, 465 W School Ave. in Waskom, Texas.
