Chester Wayne Straus

Funeral services honoring the life of Chester Wayne "Cooter" Straus will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Stanley, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Richard Tull. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Logansport, Louisiana on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Chester was born on June 6, 1942 in San Marcos, Texas to Willis Felder "Bill" Straus and Eula Mae "Dude" Lowery Straus. He entered into eternal rest on January 20, 2021 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Chester had a love for fishing at Toldeo Bend Lake. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Preceding Chester are his parents, Willis and Eula Straus; brothers, Bobby Harper, Felder Leon "Pete" Straus, and David William "Butch" Straus. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patsy "Joy" Smith Straus; son, Timothy Wayne Straus and wife Erin of Stonewall, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Honoring Chester as pallbearers will be David Straus, Peter Straus, Thomas Straus, Roy Smith, Jr., David Caston, and Paul Walker.
