Cheryl Zey

A visitation for Cheryl Lynn Zey, 53, will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A memorial mass will take place at a later date. Cheryl was born September 19, 1968 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Henry Zey and Jimmie Owens Zey. She passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Cheryl graduated from high school in Calgary Alberta Canada, attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology specializing in Cardiac Rehab, and later received a degree from Blue Cliff College in Shreveport, Louisiana in Massage Therapy. She went on to specialize in various avenues of Medical Massage Therapy, opening and operating her own business, Z Integrative Therapy, for over 20 years. Cheryl was a loving supermom, sister, daughter, friend, and "Aunt Sissy" to many. She was extremely active and was always planning her next adventure. Cheryl loved spending time outdoors enjoying nature during her yearly beach trip, kayaking on Cypress Lake, going for a run with her beloved lab, Zeke, camping with her two daughters, or traveling with her "Tribe" of best friends. She owned her own business in Shreveport/Bossier for over 20 years and made enduring connections with her clients while supporting our local community. As a life-long learner, Cheryl was always striving to further her medical training and knowledge. She was in her last two weeks from graduating with her Registered Nursing degree. Cheryl was extremely intentional with all who knew her, celebrating their life accomplishments more than her own. Those who love her reflect on her contagious smile and laughter that could fill the entire room. In addition to loving those around her, she participated in and planned many community events using her love of running to positively impact others. Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit and love of life will stay with us forever. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John T. Owens of Homer, Louisiana; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry A. Zey of Homer, Louisiana; aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ceccarelli of Homer, Louisiana; and Uncle, Mr. James Dowies of Homer, Louisiana. Cheryl, "Sissy", is survived by her two daughters, Lynnse Rae Terhune and fiancé Benjamin Hyde of Frierson, Louisiana and Mackenzie Elizabeth Terhune of Centennial, Colorado; her parents, of Benton, Louisiana; her sister Elizabeth Zey Prater and husband Keith of Bossier City, Louisiana; and brother David Franklin Zey and wife Rebecca of Gunter, Texas; Scott and Stephanie Terhune and extended Colorado family; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheryl's honorary pallbearers will be "The Tribe", Katy Merriman, Denise Durci, Melanie Johnson, Kelley Day, Amy Harris, Kimber Kadesky, Kimberly Conrad, Jina Goodwin, Luanne Gorzsas, Hollie Fritz, and M'lissa Smith, as well as her dear college friend, Stacey Jackson.
