SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services celebrating the life of Charlsie Ragsdale Hope will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Steven Pettey from Pinecroft Baptist Church will be officiating, where she was a long-time and faithful member. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home. Charlsie was 93 years old. She was born Feb 9, 1923 in Vivian, LA into a Christian home by parents Charles and Sady Bradshaw. She lived in Vivian until she graduated from Vivian High School, then attended LA Tech in Ruston where she lived with her first husband, Edgar Ragsdale and had their 4 children. She then moved to Shreveport and went to work for William Volker/Adeleta until she retired after 35 years. Her family was her "joy of life" where you would always find her laughing the most. Charlsie was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sady Bradshaw, her husband, Oscar Hope, and her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Lyonel Bradshaw. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Larry Ragsdale; daughters, Patti Bell and her husband, Gordon, Gay Haselden and her husband, Jim, and Judy Parker and her husband, Rick; grandchildren, Doug and Holly Olds, Shannon Olds, Lee Bell, Rene` and Jason Zook, Christy Parker and Shannon and Tracy Allison; great-grandchildren, Xamiel Bell, Amanda and Jordan Stores, Baylee and Ainsley Allison; special nephews and niece, Dr. J. Colton Bradshaw and his wife, Helene, that for years have sent mother weekly notes of how the family was doing and Mark Bradshaw and his wife, Sandy; and special cousins, Imogene and Francis. The family would like to thank Brooks Personal Care for finding us great caregivers, like Sarah V. Williams and also the entire staff and personnel at the Guest House.
