Charlote Denise Ott was born May 7, 1959 to Marvin and Lottie Ott. As a small child, her mother noted an innate need to care for the sick. Her mother encouraged her to assist in the care of her ill father, grandparents, siblings, as well as injured animals.
During a stay at Clara Springs Encampment one summer, Charlotte felt she was led by God to know that He had created her to be a nurse. She never doubted that calling. With continual prayer and intervention from God, Charlotte lived to serve in that calling for over 30 years.
Charlotte talked to her patients throughout her career about God's love for them. She led many to Him through the gifts in her life. That is what those who have known her see Charlotte as- A Gift!
Charlotte married Jerry Lee McCune on July 17, 1976. They have two sons, Jerry Patrick McCune and Paul Samuel McCune, daughter-in-law Harmony, and grandchildren John Patrick McCune, Devon Michael McCune, Joseph Lynn McCune, and Faith Ann McCune.
Charlotte joined her parents and oldest sister, Sue Ott Mayes (Joe) in the Heavenly Family Circle on October 24, 2019. Also left on Earth to remember her lovingly are her siblings Betty Ott Butler (Ronnie), Diane Ott Lord (Larry), Marvin Ott (Karen), Vicki Ott (Bill Gardner), Mary Ott, Tim Ott (Sonya), Kathy Ott Forrest (Ricky), Glynn Ott (Rhonda), Mike Ott (Penny), April Ott, Lisa Ott Goins (Lee), many nieces and nephews, her BFF longer than memory, Frances Behan Lowe, and countless others whose lives have been touched by her legacy.
Serving Charlotte as pallbearers will be Vicki Ott, Mary Ott, Glynn Ott, Allen Ebarb, Kevin Ebarb, Quentin Hill, Jacob Ott, and John Bilyeu.
Honorary pallbearers will be Barry McCune, Derrick McCune, Brent Ingvardsen, and Jeffrey Ott.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
