Charlotte Marie George

Funeral services for Charlotte Marie Harrington George, 86, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025 at North Shreve Baptist Church, 4930 Old Mooringsport Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Cecil Marr.

Charlotte passed away on December 17, 2025. She was born in Atlanta, Texas on January 27, 1939 and was raised in Ida, Louisiana. She was a 1957 graduate of North Caddo High School and attended business school in Shreveport.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Burl Harrington and Juana Marie Harrington. Charlotte is survived by her husband of 67 years, Howard E. George, Jr.; son, Steve George and wife, Donna of El Dorado, Arkansas; daughter, Kay George of McKinney, TX; grandsons, Nathan George and wife, Jessica, Ben Austin and Jacob George; great-grandchildren, Charlie Kate George, Cooper Ryan George and sister, P. Katherine Ponthier of Bossier City.

Charlotte had many joys in her life including her flower gardens, traveling both home and abroad and her “legendary” holiday get togethers that welcomed everyone. However, the true loves in her life were family. She counted being a wife, mother and grandmother as the greatest gifts that she could have ever received.

The family would like to thank the staff of the memory care unit at the Columns of Bossier and the nursing staff of Compassus Hospice for the care of our mom.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
