A memorial service for Charles “Charlie” Wilson Taylor, 68, will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Linda Smith.
Charlie was born on June 23, 1957, to Margaret Long Taylor and Julius Wilson Taylor in Greenville, Mississippi, and passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Charlie graduated from Wingfield High School in Jackson, Mississippi, Class of 1975, and went on to spend more than 30 years working as a landman in the oil and gas industry. In 1987, he married the love of his life, Sarah Lynn Elliott, and their bond was something rare and beautiful. Losing her to ALS in 2006 was the greatest heartbreak of his life. He missed her every single day, carried her memory in everything he did, and held a deep, steady longing to see her again.
Charlie was loud, full of life, and the kind of man who made every gathering better just by being there. He loved his family and friends with a fierce, joyful devotion, and people naturally gravitated toward him because he made everyone feel like they belonged. He cherished his children and adored his grandchildren; they were the light of his world, and he never missed a chance to brag on them or wrap them up in his big personality. He treasured family beach trips, where he soaked up every moment surrounded by the people he loved most, and he especially enjoyed get‑togethers with his “brothers,” where laughter came easy, and memories were made without even trying. He was the resident “dad” to many of his kids’ friends, always ready with a story, words of wisdom, or a place to land. Being surrounded by the people he loved was his happiest place, and he made sure everyone around him felt that love right back.
Charlie touched countless lives with his big personality and even bigger heart. He loved his people fiercely, and that love will be remembered with gratitude by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and J.W. Taylor; his beloved wife, Sarah Lynn Elliott Taylor; his mother and father‑in‑law, Pauline Staires Elliott and Harold Glenn Elliott; and his dear friend, Jomie Cain.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Elliott Wilson Taylor, and fiancée, Sarah Beth Harris; his daughter, Kylie Taylor Husted, and husband, Alex; his granddaughter, Charleigh Taylor; and his grandsons, Beckett and Baker Husted. He is also survived by his sister, Julia Doolittle, and husband, Jimmy; sister-in-law, Glenda Martin, and husband, Bobby; brothers‑in‑law, H.P. Elliott, Wayne Elliott, and wife Linda.
He is further survived by nieces, Michelle Doolittle, Kristen Rieman (Jerimiah), Kristi Martin Jones (Chris), and Shannan Elliott. Nephews Jason Elliott (Whitney), Dwayne (Jennifer), Ryan Elliott (Sydney), and David Martin (Chasity). Great‑nieces and great‑nephews include Boden Rieman, Potter Rieman, Dalton Elliott (Mishka), Dylan Elliott (Mallory), Laken Vosbury (John), Whitley Martin, Caleb Clearman, Jacob Clearman, John Martin Clearman, McKenzie Jones, Cash Jones, Ashley Elliott, and Katie Elliott.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Elliott Taylor, Bruce Bowman, George Jackson, James O’Bannon, Trippe Green, David Green, and Bryan Green.
