Funeral services will be held for Mr. Charles C. Rushing, at Pleasure Point Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Chuck Johnston and Bro. Dave Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Independence Cemetery in Fouke, AR. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Rushing was born October 18, 1937, in Fouke, AR, to William C. and Linnie L. Staley Rushing. He entered into rest surrounded by family on September 24, 2021, in Homer, LA. Charles was the leader of the Northwest Louisiana Gun Fighters Old West Reenactment for Bonnie and Clyde Trade days for several years, as a testament of his passions for the old west and shooting guns. He was a member of Pleasure Point Baptist and a member of the Mason Lodge #152 of Homer, LA. Charles proudly served his country, and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He loved to go fishing and ride motorcycles as well.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Omelia Burns, Omega Alton, Oretha Holcomb, Obera Darling, and Opal Adly; and by brother, Allen Rushing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Martha Jo Blackmon Rushing; son, Charles Rushing; daughter, Janice Huffman; step children, Ricky Blackmon (Libby), Brad Blackmon (Mandy), Faye Hightower, and Kay Paranuk (John); sister, Aleen Harden; and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Richard Huffman, Scott Harden, Tristan Harden, Dennis Harden, Rick Keith, and Forrest Paranuk.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Rushing, his family suggests memorials be made to Pleasure Point Baptist Church.
