Charles H. Pierce, 81, of Plain Dealing, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
Born on December 6, 1944, in Springhill, Louisiana, Charles was the son of John D. Pierce and Louise Pierce. He spent his life in northwest Louisiana, where he built a legacy of hard work, love for the outdoors, and unforgettable stories.
Charles dedicated 41 years to B&J Floor Service, becoming a true ambassador for the company. Even in retirement, he proudly wore his B&J T-shirt and cap—rarely seen in anything else. His loyalty and pride in his work were unmatched.
An avid hunter and fisherman from an early age, Charles embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm. He often joked that hunting and fishing limits were merely suggestions, and his adventures kept local game wardens busy in his younger years. A gifted storyteller, Charles never let anyone leave without hearing “just one more story.” His tales, sometimes unbelievable but always true, reflected a life lived to the fullest.
Charles was a devoted family man. He had two biological children, Dewayne and Pam, but his heart was big enough to raise and mentor many others as his own. He touched countless lives with his generosity, guidance, and humor, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Diane McNutt Pierce; his children, Dewayne Pierce and wife, Wendy, Pam McKeever and husband, Buff, Darren Disotell, Bobby McNutt and wife, Trish; his sister, Lois Pierce; grandchildren, Wendol and Robbie Davis, Crystal Pierce, Catrina Burnham, Bailey Newberry, Wendol McNutt III, and Annie Disotell; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John and Louise Pierce; his brother, James D. Pierce; and his daughter, Paula Cole.
Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be Bobby McNutt II, Wendol Davis, Darren Disotell, Cody Dluzak, Bryce Johns, and Jimmy Lucas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dewayne Pierce, Robbie Davis, Tim Disotell, Jerry and Jonny Juneau, Bird Dog Adams, John LeBlanc, David Vail, Curt Baby Southern, Jeff Brown, Dickie Barnes, Ed Barnes, and Roger Dluzak.
Visitation for Charles Pierce will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Following the visitation, funeral services will be led by Dennis Aaron at 2:00 p.m.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
