Born in Poland, Louisiana on November 6, 1926, he died peacefully at home in Homer, Louisiana on March 3, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dora Fleming McCullin, and his daughters June Smith and husband James Smith, Resa Ott and husband Richard Ott, Robin Self and husband Don Self; grandchildren Daniel Smith, Catherine Griffith and husband Greg Griffith, Carolyn Ott, Michelle Taylor and husband George Taylor; great grandchild Austin Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
He was adored by his family. He was known for transporting his children\'s furniture and pets across the country without complaint. He sat/slept through many a granddaughter\'s dance recital. He supported us in whatever we chose to do and reminded us to be kind to another.
He loved life. He loved people and people loved him. Sports were his passion, to play or to watch: golf, basketball, football. Go Tigers!
He was a hero. He stood up for what he believed and he stood his ground. He was genuinely kind and acted out his faith. He was the hands and feet of Christ. We are better people because we knew him.
