Charles Edwin Hillin

Charles “Charlie” Edwin Hillin, age 60, of Coushatta, LA, was born on July 30, 1964, in Dallas, TX, and passed away on July 14, 2025, in Shreveport, LA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Helen Price, and his parents, Mary Margaret Price McCoy and Charles Frank Hillin. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 22 years Margaret Ann Robinson Hillin; sons, Andrew Robinson, Joseph Hillin, and Dalton Hillin, and daughter, Madison Hillin; grandson, Bodhi Hillin; and many other special friends and relatives.

Charles was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church of Halfway, Louisiana. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and PawPaw. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and anything that had to do with the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, or University of Georgia Bulldogs.

He was an extremely generous soul who loved, and was loved by, everyone he met. He never met a stranger, was larger than life, lived life to the fullest, and went out of his way to help anyone in need. He particularly enjoyed helping with the Delta Waterfowl Cane River Chapter Youth Day, Power & Grace production sets where his daughter, Maddie, was a dancer, and most especially his many annual Santa appearances, which he looked forward to all year long.

The family would like to thank the staff of CHRISTUS Coushatta Healthcare, especially Dr. Sarah Herbel for her compassion and support during this difficult time as she has truly gone above and beyond. Our gratitude is more than words can express and more than she will ever know. Additional thanks are given to the ICU staff at Ochsner LSU Shreveport for their exceptional care.

A memorial service honoring the life of Charles “Charlie” Hillin will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, Coushatta, LA, officiated by Dr. Gregory Bell. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Delta Waterfowl Cane River Chapter, Attn: Ricky McConnell, 815 Whitfield Dr, Natchitoches, LA 71457, or call Ricky at 318-554-9096.
