A graveside service for Charles Joseph Frizzell, Sr., 95, will be held on Monday, October 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Patrick Dowling.
Charles was born to Stephen Lafayette Frizzell and Irene Webb Frizzell in El Dorado, Arkansas on December 25, 1930, and passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, in Rowlett, Texas.
Charles was a graduate of Fair Park High School who went on to live a full and dedicated life centered around his family, hobbies, and community. He built a meaningful career, retiring from L.E. Myers, and was a deeply committed member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge, where he achieved the respected rank of Master Mason.
Outside of his work and fraternal commitments, Charles was passionate about the things and sports teams he loved. He was an avid fisherman and loved traveling to Arkansas and taking trips out West. He was a dedicated, passionate fan of both LSU and the Dallas Cowboys. He shared a special, deep bond with his cherished furbaby, Bella.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 58 years, Mollie Frizzell; and sisters, Peggy Pate, Vera Lagrone, Betsy Scarborough, and Mattie Boyter.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Donna Byrd (Ron), Joey Frizzell, Jr., Brenda Dowling (Michael), and Karen Frizzell; four grandchildren, Meredith Houchins (Jason), John Pachankis, Jr. (Greg), Kristin Cordaro (Phillip), and Caroline Jones (Trey); three great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Houchins, David Jones, IV, and Andy Jones; siblings, James Frizzell (Phyllis), Robert Frizzell (Mary), Mary Ann McCrary, and Kenneth Frizzell (Ann).
Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be Michael Dowling, John Pachankis, Sr., Patrick Dowling, and Trey Jones.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to Evergreen Ministries, 1209 Middle Road, Minden, Louisiana, 71055.
