Charles Edward Ritter passed away on January 30, 2022. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at North Keithville Baptist Church, with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Rev. Will Simmons.
Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Hazel Oree Ritter; and by his sisters, Wanda Sue Peshoff and Mildred Ritter. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sally Risch Ritter; daughter, Sondra Ritter King and husband John; stepdaughter, Sharla Cortinas; stepsons, Jessie Jobe and James Jobe; siblings, Mike Ritter, Kenneth Ritter, Billie Jean Whitfield, and Marcille Lehr; grandchildren, Chase King, Callie King, Caylin Cortinas, Lawson Cortinas, Brighton Battee, and Isabella Jobe; and a host of nieces and nephews.
During retirement, Charles favorite days would be spent with a fishing pole in his hand at Sabine Pass near his hometown of Many, Louisiana. His favorite afternoons were spent casting a line with his grandchildren on the pond at their family home, and favorite evenings spent at home with Sally. The time spent with his siblings, especially the past five years, have meant more to him than they know.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Richard Haynie and also to the staff at Christus Highland Shreveport for their compassionate care and consideration to Mr. Ritter and to the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
