Charles David Day III

Charles \"David\" Day, III passed away on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Shreveport on September 22, 1952. A memorial service will be held in the Ridge Room at East Ridge Country Club on November 18th at 5:00 pm. He was a lifelong resident of Shreveport and worked for many years in the oil and gas industry. He later worked for Magnolia Marketing before returning to his roots and retiring as an oil and gas landman. David was a charter member of Grace Community United Methodist Church where he helped plant all the azaleas that currently grace the church grounds. David was a wonderful cook and spent much of his time poring over recipes and studying various cooking methods. Nothing made him happier than to feed his family and friends whether it was his fantastic gumbo or smoked brisket. David was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ruth Day, and sister, Susan Day. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathleen (Kathy) Day; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Amy Day of Shreveport; and son, Bryan (Jordan) Day of Dallas; as well as his beloved dog, Bailey. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Richard Haynie for his tireless care over the years.
