A Celebration of Life for Charles Eugene Cutright, 70, will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Leading the service will be Bubba Winningham.
Charles was born on June 22, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Vivin Dallas and Betty Jackson Cutright. He passed away Friday, September 3, 2021, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Charles was a proud member of the class of '69 at Bossier High School. He was loved by all and quite popular with the ladies. He always had a smile on his face and was always making people laugh. Charles should have become a comedian, but instead became the next best thing, a salesman. He eventually joined the family business, "Cutrights Upholstery", working alongside his father. He sold the jobs that his father would beautifully fulfill. He loved working for and serving his community and valued making each customer happy. Later Charles went into car sales where he worked for 17 years before retiring from Chevyland Chevrolet dealership.
Charles liked to talk and reminisce about the good times had on camping trips, parties, and all the other joys of life. Over the last four years he was able to spend true quality time with his sisters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, never missing a holiday, birthday, or Kathy's pool. He was a proud member of AA for 24 years. If you knew Charles, you knew that he was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and watched all the games, alone. He also loved his plants, Jesus, and to swear. During the Mardi Gras season, Charles would load and drive his Chevy truck with the float for The Black-Eyed Pea Queens. This resulted in him becoming their official "Ham Hock". When he wasn't spending time with family and friends, watching football, or hauling around a trailer full of women, Charles tried to learn as much information as he could about the stars.
He will always be remembered for his big smile, infectious laughter, sense of humor, and unyielding optimism. To know him, was to love him. He will be missed by many until they meet again, on the other side of the stars.
Charles is preceded in death by parents; son, Charles Cutright, Jr.; and brother, Richard Cutright. He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Melancon and husband, Larry, and Linda Cutright Plunkett; grandson, Andrew Fallon; nieces, Lori Robinson and Molly Melancon-Burt and husband, Matt; nephews, Larry Robinson and wife, Allison and Bobby Melancon and wife, Kara; great-nephews and great-nieces, Hudson Walton, Presleigh Walton, Reid Robinson, Brayden Robinson, Libby Claire Robinson, Allie Melancon, Marcie Melancon and Isobel.
