Charlie “Buck” Cook was born November 5,1963, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He entered into rest with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Homer, Louisiana.
Buck was a man who enjoyed the simple life of the outdoors and country living. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time helping his dad with his garden. He especially loved to go hunting and fishing. Probably his favorite thing was to trap a wild animal any time of year. Buck was very skilled at trapping, which he started doing at a very young age.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fanni Cook, his mother Mary Lynn Cook, his maternal grandparents Prentis and Fannie Mae White, paternal grandparents, Lois and Bessie Cook.
He is survived by his father, Roderick Cook, his brothers, Paul (Keitha) Cook, Keith (Janet) Cook, sister Greta Cook (Gene) Grigg, nieces and nephews, Christopher (Emily) Cook, Peyton (Abe) Rogers, Stephanie (Ron) Sheline, Schyler, Issac, and Aaron Cook, great nieces and nephews Ellie, Emily, Henry (Cook), Indy, Parker (Roger), Owen, Liam, Olivia (Sheline), and by special friend Lisa Chandler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Buzz Buckner, Jeff Flaherty, and Van Flaherty.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. Mariah Church 275 Mask Rd, Athens, LA. 71003
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Claiborne Memorial Medical Center, Dr. Mark Haynes, Dr. Scott Haynes, and the ICU nurses. Also Presbyterian Village in Homer, Louisiana.
