Charles “Buzzy” Roger Davenport, 87, was born on July 9, 1938, in Baltimore, MD to William Joseph Davenport and Anna Martin Bryan. Buzzy left for his Heavenly home on Monday, October 27, 2025, at his home in Princeton, LA surrounded by his family. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Point Chapel Assembly of God Cemetery in Doyline at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home Minden Chapel. Officiating the service will be Bro. Fred Fory Jr.

Buzzy left high school at the age of 17 to join the service. He spent most of his military career in Germany following basic training in Denver, CO. After his US Army career ended, Buzzy went to work laying floors until his knees gave out. He then got a job working for Sears Department Store where he retired. Buzzy loved music, especially Frank Sinatra, but he loved to dance even more.

Buzzy was preceded in death by both parents, wife Lois Whitley Davenport; sister Anna Potter; brothers William, Donald, Melvin, Walter, Austin, Tommy, and Bobby Davenport, along with nieces Veronica Patterson, Rose and Linda Davenport, Debbie Todd, and Toni Folhart; nephews Daniel Fory, Ronnie and Lonnie Potter, Robert Davenport and Richard Davenport.

He is survived by his sister Emma Davenport Fory, nieces Joy Davis (Mark), Lori Fory, Debra Fory, Kathy Thibault, Roxanne Battles (Roger), Jackie Walsh (John), Yvonne Musil (Rick), Leigh Melton (Jim), Lynn Beatty (Billy), Martha Jarrell (Ron), Joyce Witt (Harold), Connie Bonzo (Lee), Delores Rogers, Doris Cusick, Monica Meadows, Diane Davenport, Tammy Schmidtbaur (Walter), Deborah, Patricia, Gloria, and Betty Davenport; nephews Fred Fory (Karen), Tim Fory, Ernie Potter, Roy Potter, Gary, Michael, Billy, Donald, Ronald and Steven Davenport, special buddy Donna Liles, and a multitude of other great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Buzzy was especially close to some of his great-great nieces and nephews and had a huge love for all babies.

Pallbearers will be Mark Davis, Ben Gray, Jeremy Evans, Tucker Evans, J.P. Crow, TJ Fory, and Mike Fory.

Everyone is asked to wear anything Baltimore, Baltimore Orioles, or black and orange to his service. Baltimore was his true love.
