Funeral services for Charles "Cowboy" Hall, 88, will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 10043 Hwy. 79, Bethany, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Spring Ridge, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Marvin Cooper.

Charles was born on September 24, 1937 in DeBerry, Texas to Charles T. Hall and Brownie Hall and passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025 in Shreveport.

Charles was a resident of Bethany, Louisiana and graduated from Greenwood High School, Class of 1953. He was married to Josephine Stanley Hall with whom he shared three children, Chuck, Debra, and Adam. He was in the Marines and guarded Lee Harvey Oswald, who was the one who assassinated President John F. Kennedy. While in the Marines, he received the Good Conduct Medal. He attended the Atomic/Biologic Chemical School and the ABC Defense School/Leadership School. He was discharged on February 9, 1962 from the U.S. Marine Corps. After his service, he worked for Arkla Gas in Waskom, Texas for over 30 years. After retiring from Arkla Gas, he started working for Specialty Oil. He also worked as a security guard for Willis-Knighton Bossier.

Charles loved working on his farm and driving his tractor. He loved to plant his garden, especially watermelons. He loved to go to Albert Pike with his family and take trips to Galveston, Texas. In his later years, you could find him watching Gunsmoke on TV. He was a kind man, never met a stranger, especially when it came to meeting a pretty lady. He loved spending time with his family eating at Golden Corral. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his legacy of strength and hard work will continue to live on ;through his family.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. and Brownie Hall; Earl Gifford Hall; and son, Chuck Hall. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Adam Hall and wife, Brandy; daughter, Debra Ebarb; grandchildren, Aaron Hall, Hannah Dorsey, Tinlee Hal, Logan Kelley, Brandi Hall Evans, Clint Hall, Michael Hall; great-grandchildren, Corbin Dorsey, Levi Dorsey, Aarianna Hall, and AJ Hall.

Honoring Charles as pallbearers will be Aaron Hall, Stan Hall, Jeff Teer, Alden Dorsey, Russell Bryan, and Shannon Swilley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Busher, Johnny Meyer, and Bradley Lewis.

The family wants to thank Caddo Fire District 4 and Caddo Fire District 3 for taking care of our daddy.
