Charles Morris Ackerman

A Memorial Service for Charles (Charley) Morris Ackerman, 77, will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Community Methodist Church, 9400 Ellerbe Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Rich Varner.

Charley was born February 27, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Max and Frances (Fran) McNabb Ackerman and passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

Charley was a resident of Shreveport and worked in sales in the auto industry. He was married for 42 years. He served in the Army. His spirit came alive when he got involved in Kairos Prison Ministry. Anyone who stood still long enough would quickly learn of his passion for ministering to residents of David Wade Correctional Center.

Charley is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his spouse, Beth Ackerman; and son, Wesley Ackerman.
