A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Charlene Rains Gardner, 78, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Benton, 201 Bellevue Street, Benton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Robert Beadle.
Charlene was born February 15, 1944, in Many, Louisiana, to Cassell Lehr and Clara Lehr Anders. She went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
In Charlene’s lifetime, she played all the parts, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, friend, and co-worker. No one could have managed it all any better than she did. Her faith in Jesus was never in doubt, and she surely is with Him today in heaven. There is no way to know how many lives she touched, but it is certain all those lives were better because of her.
Charlene is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Jimmy Anders; husbands, Isaac Rains, Jr., and Narry Gardner; sister, Belinda Lehr Allder; and daughter-in-law, Joan Rains. She is survived by her sons, Bobby Rains and wife Fran, David Rains and wife, Allison, and Kerry Rains and wife, Trenia; grandchildren, Carrie Poore, Tell John, Stacy Loe, Tyler Aldridge, Lauren Nelson, Emery Spriggs, Cassy Pressley, and Lacy Sargent; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Logan, Allie, Tobias, Calliope, James David, Sibley, Josie, Nora, Cabot, Ellis, Colbie, Collier, Callie, Cooper, McCoy, and Ky; brothers, Allen Lehr and wife, Sheryl, and Wayne Lehr and wife, Becky; and sister, Gloria Musick and husband, Elton.
