Chad Eugene Harrington, or known as “Chaddywack,” age 43, passed away on May 12, 2026, at Willis Knighton Pierremont Hospital in Shreveport, LA surrounded by the love of his beloved mother. He was born on December 9, 1982, in Shreveport, LA.
Chad was a beloved resident of Arc of Acadiana in Bossier City, LA. Chad lived a life marked by courage, humor, and a spirit that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he lived with cerebral palsy, it never defined him. What defined him was his smile — the kind that could soften the hardest day — and the way he brought people together without ever saying a word. He taught patience, compassion, and the true meaning of resilience simply by being himself.
He loved his beloved maternal grandmother, Mary Elva Parrish. He found joy in the small, steady rhythms of life. His presence filled rooms, not with noise, but with warmth. He had a gift for reminding others of what really matters: kindness, connection, and showing up for one another.
He is survived by his mother, Melinda P. Harrington of Bossier City, LA; his sister, Emily M. Harrington; and his two nieces, Caroline E. Seibert and Amelia L. Allen of Sunset, LA; numerous aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He is also survived by Robert E. Harrington “Bobby” of South Haven, MS. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Elva Parrish, maternal grandfather, Thomas Ezekiel Parrish; and his two uncles, Thomas Randal Parrish and Victor Grady Harrington.
A service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Pastor Kenny Word Fox of Gospel Lighthouse Church in Bossier City, LA.
Pallbearers will be Terry Parrish, Matthew Parrish, Kenneth Cogburn, Christopher Davis, Edward Harrington, and David Miles. The family welcomes all who loved Chad to join in celebrating the beautiful, meaningful life Chad lived. Chad Eugene Harrington a beloved son, grandson, brother, and uncle was a gift, and his memory will remain a blessing eternally.
