Funeral services for Catherine Moore Johnson will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation at the Rose-Neath Chapel will be held 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021. Interment will follow the funeral service at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating will be Stuart Freeman. Catherine was born in Dallas, Texas on August 31, 1928 to Augustus Pope and Marian Holmes Moore. She passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 93. Catherine was a member of The Church of Christ. She loved her Lord and Savior, she always involved herself in activities with the church and community. She was a dispatcher for the Logansport Police Department for ten plus years. In her later years Catherine began college at Louisiana Technical College in Mansfield, Louisiana and received her Associates degree in Computer Sciences. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John E. Johnson; parents and brother, John Moore. Catherine is survived by her children, Richard T. Freeman and wife, Brenda, Mary Hall, Cathy Matlock and husband, Phillip; grandchildren, Sommer Haddock, Jason Prothro, Holly Hall and husband, Trenton and Kayla Freeman and fiancé, Jeremy; great-grandchildren, Brayden Haddock, Kamron Blackshire, Peyton Williams, Kaysean Hall, Ka'Lisa Hall, Krislyn Hall and Katrell Hall; niece, Cindy Brown and husband, LeRoy; and five stepchildren. Honoring Catherine as pallbearers will be Brayden Haddok, Jason Prothro, John Hammons, Kamron Blackshire, Phillip Matlock and Trenton Hall. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Richard Freeman. The family would like to thank Willis-Knighton Piermont, Dr. Nelson, Dr. Howard and the staff on the sixth floor for taking care of our mother.
