Catherine Joan McFerren

A funeral service for Catherine Joan McFerren, 74, will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at noon at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at the Old Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Michael Scott.

Joan was born on August 16, 1950, to Bennie Clovis Stewart and Mellie May Burleson in Many, Louisiana, and passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Joan graduated from Northwood High School in 1968 as a proud member of the school’s first graduating class. She spent 36 happy years married to her husband, Joe Lee McFerren. Together, they built a life full of love, faith, and quiet strength.

Joan was a kind and creative woman who brought beauty into the lives of others. She worked as a florist, creating thoughtful arrangements that touched many people over the years.

She also gave her time to her church, playing the piano on Sundays and sharing her love of music with her community.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steady presence, and the care she showed in everything she did.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee McFerren; father, Bennie Clovis Stewart and mother, Mellie May Burleson. She is survived by her sons, Kevin McFerren and wife, Christa, Chris McFerren and wife, Samantha, and Kenneth McFerren and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Ava, Abbi, Anna, Ashley, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Ava Catherine and Chloe Marie; sister Carol Webb, and brother, Ronnie Stewart.

Honoring Joan as pallbearers will be David Williams, Robert McEachern, Charles Reese, Cody Braddock, Greg Armond, and Timothy Armond.
