Cathy was born on December 27, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio to Curtis and Nellie Schwab and passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Cathy lived most of her life in Shreveport, Louisiana. After graduating from C. E. Byrd High School, she started her adventure into adulthood studying at Louisiana Tech University, leaving early to start and raise a family. Many years later, she met the love of her life, Charles Taylor, and they began their life on the road trucking. They traveled from west coast to east coast, with her being the driver and Charles riding shotgun. She later went back to school to become a graphic artist. Her career choice suited her well, for she was clever with words and skilled at combining them with a visual to tell a good story, most often as a means of sharing her wisdom with us all. Cathy was the matriarch of our family. Along with her husband Charles, she ruled as our moral compass and pillar of strength. Her backbone and ability to always know what to do shielded us from life\'s greatest hurts. Her take charge attitude made us strong. It is scary not having her here with us now to navigate what is to come, but we are so grateful to God for letting us have her this long despite the many hardships she has endured over the years and many close calls those times have wrought. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles "Buddy" Wayne McCoy; brother, Kenneth Schwab; and grandson, Curt Coffelt. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Charles Taylor; daughter, Sheri Flores; step-son, Ray Taylor a slew of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God has called Cathy home to her place of eternal peace. She has been rejoined with loved ones and is at rest. Those of us she left behind will look forward to that day when our time comes to join her in Heaven. Honoring Cathy as pallbearers will be Chad Coffelt, Ray Taylor, Ronnie Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Josh Bartleson and Mike Bidleman.
