Berta Reynaud was born March 17, 1921 in Calera, AL to Earnest and Jessie Lucas and went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2018 in Shreveport, LA. Berta defined "LIFE". She was a beacon of energy, happiness and faith and promoted her gift to whomever she touched. She strived to discover the special things that made her surroundings in one simple word, "happy". Nobody was ever forgotten or unimportant. She kept specific detail to make others feel special, an unforgettable yet unique quality that we all could be so fortunate to retain. In her colorful life, she served in the US Navy as a nurse during WWII. She spread her roots from an early childhood family farm in Alabama to her own farm along the Red River banks of Vick, LA, later to settle in her home in Shreveport LA, where she raised her family and built unforgettable memories for her next generations and generations to come. Her beautiful qualities have spread through family and friends. She was a loving mother, granny, and friend to all. Berta had the ability to make any room brighter. She leaves behind a legacy of love, contagious smiles, laughter, and her love for her family, friends and faith in God.
