A funeral service for Carrie Lachney, of Hessmer, will begin at 11:30am on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville.

Carrie Ann Lachney, age 39, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville.

She found her peace and inspiration in the outdoors, often spending her time hiking and exploring nature’s quiet beauty. A true artist at heart, she expressed herself through painting and creative pursuits, leaving behind pieces that tell stories of emotion, depth, and joy. She will be remembered most for her deep love of reading, which was her favorite way to spend time. Whether curled up with a novel or lost in the pages of poetry, she found comfort, adventure, and endless inspiration in books.

She was proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents, Earlis Lachney, Sr. & Youlla Lachney; maternal grandparents, Thomas Broussard, Sr. & Madeline Broussard; nieces, Kelsey Lachney Desselle and Ava Lachney Desselle.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Earlis, Jr. & Mary Lachney of Hessmer; brother, Philip (Jennifer) Lachney of Plaucheville; sister, Jessica (Jeramy) Desselle of Illinois; nieces & nephews, Kadence Desselle of Illinois, Avery Foster of Angola, Emmalyn Lachney of Plaucheville, and Asher Desselle of Illinois.

A visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 10:00pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville. Visitation will resume at 8:00am on Friday, September 26, 2025 until time of service.
