Carolyn Ruth Taylor

Carolyn Ruth Irvine Taylor passed peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, February 4, 2022, just 13 days after her beloved husband, Raymond Grady Taylor, died.

Carolyn was born August 25, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Elstner Irvine, Jr. and Aline Stanley Irvine.

Carolyn grew up in Shreveport and met the love of her life, Raymond, while attending Fair Park High School. Carolyn and Raymond were married on July 20, 1959 and made Shreveport their home for 62 years. During this time, they were blessed with two children and five grandchildren. Those that knew Carolyn knew her greatest pride was being a wife, a mother and a grandmother. Carolyn woke up every morning choosing to be happy. With Carolyn's quick wit, there was never a dull moment when she was around. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, and traveling to Florida. Some of her favorite travels were the long road trips with Raymond, riding on the back of his Harley.

She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Taylor; daughter, Michele Taylor Wiener and her husband, Jacques; and grandchildren, Amanda Taylor, Ryan Taylor and wife, Kelly, Katie Wiener, John Wiener, and Thomas Wiener. The family wishes to thank caregiver Tevshavion Brooks for her loving care during Carolyn's final days.

A private service for family members will be held at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Reverend Steve Lesher, Senior Minister at King Highway Christian Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Southfield School, 1100 Southfield Rd., Shreveport, LA 71106, Kings Highway Christian Church, 806 Kings Hwy., Shreveport, LA 71104 or the charity of one's choice.
