Carolyn Moncrief Lyons

A graveside service honoring the life of Carolyn Moncrief Lyons will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Minden, Louisiana, under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home. Carolyn passed away August 5, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Gibsland, Louisiana on December 3, 1942.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Henley Lyons and her parents Carl and Marie Moncrief.

She is survived by her four children Bonnie (Roy) Parish of Shreveport; Gentry (Carol) Lyons of Minden; Jennifer (Denny) Martin of Eminence, Missouri; and Larry Lyons of Hendersonville, Tennessee, and one brother Robert (Pat) Moncrief of Benton, Louisiana. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She retired from Minden Press Herald after 20+ years of service. She helped organize and was very active in the Gibsland High School reunion group for many years. She loved reading, cooking, sewing, and tending to her many plants and her beloved cats.

She was much loved and will be greatly missed.
