Carolyn Leroy Leon

Carolyn Leroy Leon was born on March 19, 1943 and passed away on January 10, 2026. After spending her childhood in France and Germany, she resided in Shreveport, LA.

Carolyn was a faithful member of Mangum UMC for many years. She was retired from The Miller Companies. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Leroy; mother and step-father, Juanita and Courtney Durrett; her husband of 54 years, Joseph C. Leon; and her son-in-law, Jerry Shelton. Left to cherish her memory are son, Michael Leon (James Coile); daughter, Anita Shelton; daughter, Stephanie Boyd (David); grandchildren, Sarah Hankins (Matt), Shannon Wroten (Tanner), Emily Boyd (Johnathan Fish), Jacob Boyd and J.R. Boyd; and great-grandsons, Charlie and Jack Hankins; great-granddaughter, LandryJo Wroten; and brothers, Ronnie Durrett (Sandra) and Charles Durrett (Bobbie).

Honoring Carolyn as pallbearers will be Matt Hankins, Tanner Wroten, Jacob Boyd, J.R. Boyd, Johnathan Fish, Jerry B. Waren, and Chad Southerland.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of both The Passages Hospice and The Chateaus at Montclair Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015 or The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.

Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tom Dolph and Reverend Jackie Collins.
