Funeral services for Francis 'Carolyn Franklin, 86, will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Dr. Ron McLellan of Gloster Baptist Church. Carolyn was born on November 29, 1935 to Troy Monroe Johnson and Monie Hughes Johnson in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Shreveport. Carolyn was a resident of Gloster, Louisiana and worked as a customer supervisor with the Kroger grocery chain for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren were the joy in her life. She will be greatly missed by all those that loved her. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; her father, Troy Johnson, her stepmother, Madge Johnson; son, Bob Atkins; and sister, Joan Bolton and brother-in-law, Bill Bolton. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 45 years, Bob Franklin; daughter, Susan Thomas and husband, Dennis; grandson, Robby Atkins and wife, Ashley; granddaughter, Jennifer Hathaway and husband, Aaron; great-grandchildren, Tessa, Janelle and Ariel; brother, Troy Johnson, Jr. and wife, Sheila; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Honoring Carolyn as pallbearers will be the deacons from Gloster Baptist Church.
