Carole Ann White entered into eternal rest in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Carole was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to so many. Her beautiful presence and quiet attentiveness to those around her brought a peacefulness to everyone she met.
Carole was born on September 23, 1932, in Washington, D.C. to Frances Louise Helwig. She grew up the eldest of three children and spent her schooling years at Academy of the Holy Name in Silver Spring, Maryland where she graduated in the class of 1952. She continued her education at Johns Hopkins School of Radiologic Technologist from 1952-1954. This set her on the path for a passionate career in radiology that continued for the next 69 years. She was the oldest technologist on record and remained in practice until a few short weeks before her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Malcom Rodman, her granddaughter, Anna Frazier, and her niece, Deborah Fletcher. She is survived by her sister, Betty Stancil; brother, James “Skip” Rodman; daughter, Candy Pasenow; grandchildren, Blaise Frazier, Philip Frazier and wife, Sunny; granddaughter, Jolie Frazier; great-grandsons, Rodman and Davy Frazier; nephew, Ricky Fletcher; nieces, Sasha Cranch and husband, Jason, Genai Heinrichs and husband, Brett; as well as great-nieces & nephews, Trevor, Jordan, Sierra, Skyler, Chloe, and Nox.
She was a committed member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Shreveport for many years and upon its closing, volunteered at Church of the Holy Cross and attended Episcopal Church for the Highlands. Her faith was very important to her and her life a testimony of what it means to be a follower of Christ. She had a passion for fishing and being outdoors, and so many wonderful memories from family and friends are of times spent out on her boat. Her younger years were filled with traveling adventures across the United States, including trips on her motorcycle, Celine Dion being the soundtrack to many of her miles. An avid dominoes player over the years, she looked forward to her weekly meetups to play with friends. As much as she loved to stay busy and spend time with friends, she was also just as content to be at home with her beloved cats, Tom and Jerry. She enjoyed capturing the beauty of nature through her gift of photography and created countless lovely, framed pieces of art which she proudly displayed in her home and shared with others. She made a habit of creating personalized cards for birthdays and special occasions, as well calendars each Christmas season. She was talented with computers and spent years as a part of a computer club. In her later years, she used this gift to bless others, frequently setting up and repairing computers for friends. Her unmatched thoughtfulness and intentionality will be missed by all who knew her.
Her family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St, Shreveport, LA 71101 at noon, with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel.
Although Carole loved and appreciated all aspects of nature, we ask that in lieu of flowers, you take some time to walk outside, hug your loved ones, and appreciate today because time waits for no one.
