Carole Barnes

Carole Barnes, 85, of Shreveport, Louisiana passed away December 5, 2024. She was born April 7, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri to William “Bill” and Harriet Schuermann.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service beginning at 11:00 a.m. located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Burial will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur in Bossier City. Honoring Carole as pallbearers will be Mike Kemp, Charlie Defriend, Jason Heffren, Eric Smith, Sothearith Lem, and John Hoffman. Following the graveside, the family would like to invite all attendees for a reception at Tiki Bar & Grill, 639 E Kings Hwy in Shreveport.

Carole graduated class of 1957 from Lindbergh High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She married the love of her life, Jack Barnes, that same year. Carole enjoyed the local music scene and was a staunch supporter of local musicians. She will be most remembered as a friendly and kind soul who loved her family and her dogs.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Barnes, Sr.; and father and mother-in law, Walter “Jack” Barnes and Mary Francis Barnes. Left to cherish her memory include her son, Jack Barnes, Jr. and wife Laura Barnes; daughter, Vicki Barnes; grandson, David Jacobs; granddaughter, Alison North and her husband Jon Bayon North; and great-grandchildren, Cainen Duis, Bayon North, and Emilie North.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Humane Society in memory of Carole’s love for animals.
