Carl H. Greig, Sr.

Carl Henry Greig, Sr. went to be with the Lord May 16, 2020 at the age of 76 after a long illness. Carl was a deacon at First Baptist Church Benton where he taught the senior Bible study class. He was active with the handicap ramp-building ministry of the church. He and his wife enjoyed spending time camping, fishing and relaxing at their home. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad. Carl also enjoyed hunting with his son and grandsons and close friends Mud Kelly and Bobby Davis. Spending time with family and friends spinning tales about adventures from days gone by brought an easy smile to his face. When he was your friend, it was for life and you could count on him to be there for you. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Sandra Greig; his son, Carl Greig Jr. and his wife Susan; their children Courtney and her husband Justin Hubbart, Carl Austin Greig, and James Adam Greig; his grandchildren Eleanor Hubbart and Jace Hubbart; his sister Judy Brantley and her husband Bob; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Joyce Lee Greig, and his daughter Amy Roxanne Ivy. Funeral services for Mr. Greig will be Tuesday, May 19, 2020, 2:30 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel with Rev. Robert Beadle officiating. Burial will follow at the Centuries Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport. Visitation will be Monday, May 18, 2020 from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In consideration of COVID 19, we respectfully request that you continue with the social distancing practice during the visitation and services for Mr. Carl.
