Captain John Scott DeMoss

A memorial service for Captain John Scott DeMoss, 71, will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Westlake Baptist Church, 2587 LA-163, Doyline, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Kevin Lewis. John was born on June 15, 1950 in Dayton, Kentucky to Vincent Scott Winfield DeMoss and Blanche Eileen DeMoss and passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021. John was a member of The American Legion and the 40&8 where he enjoyed participating in events such as making Christmas baskets for the needy, cooking and serving first responders and making deliveries to the VA Hospital and VA War Home. He helped with fundraisers for those who experienced natural disasters and for nurses who were in training. He truly enjoyed working with veterans and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He was a kind and generous man. In his spare time, he and his wife enjoyed traveling. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Martha Carroll-DeMoss; daughters, Renee Anglin and Renee DeMoss; sons, Bobby Carroll and wife, Jena and Michael DeMoss and wife, Kirsten; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and sisters, LynnMarie DeMoss and Lorlei D. Roberts.
