Graveside services for Calvin Henry Rawls, 87, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Rose-Neath Southside.
Calvin was born August 21, 1931 in Shreveport, LA and went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2019. He was a member of Shriners and the Rotary Club. Calvin served in the National Guard. He and his wife, Bessie, established and owned the largest monument company in North Louisiana, Central Monument Company. He enjoyed music and dancing. He loved playing pranks and making people laugh. His sense of humor will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was an amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was a wonderful provider and supportive of his family and loved ones.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bessie Rawls and parents, Knox Rawls and Irene Tabor. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Carolyn Rawls Hill and husband Larry; son, Bryan Rawls; grandchildren, Kimberly Hill Meiners, Brandon Rawls, Allison Hill Mabus, Laura Hill Lowery, Blake Rawls, John Hill, Michael Hill, and David Hill; great-grandchildren, Shayna Dickey, Kaida Lowery, Annabelle Meiners, Owen Rawls, Camryn Lowery, Vaughn Meiners III, Emily Rawls, Kaleb Hill, Luke Meiners, Evan Mabus, Patrick Hill, Charlie Mabus, Jocelyn Rawls, Easton Rawls, Henry Mabus, and Patton Hill; and loyal pet, Ceaser.
Honoring Calvin as pallbearers will be Larry Hill, John Hill, Michael Hill, David Hill, Brandon Rawls, and Blake Rawls.
