Bruce "Pops" Ray Blue, Sr.

Bruce “Pops” Blue, 73, passed away unexpectedly and entered his heavenly home on June 2, 2026.

Bruce was a devoted husband of 47 years to his lifelong love, Leesa. He was a loving father to Bruce Jr. and his wife, Alice, and to Aimee and her husband, Kevin. He was also a proud grandfather to Caleb, Parker, Camden, and Analeese. His family was the greatest joy of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to brag about his children and grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and wholeheartedly and of whom he was immensely proud.

Bruce shared a special bond with his brother, Rickey Blue Sr. The two brothers spoke every day, and Bruce treasured their close relationship.

In his younger years, Bruce enjoyed playing baseball, a passion that reflected the dedication and strong work ethic he carried throughout his 32-year career with General Motors. After retirement, he spent his days enjoying the things he loved most, fishing, hunting, singing karaoke, and making lasting memories with family and friends.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Curnal Blue; his mother, Dorothy Blue; and his brother, Gary Blue.

He will be remembered for his unwavering love, loyalty, generosity, and the countless ways he showed up for those he cherished. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on through the family he loved so well and the many lives he touched.

The family would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Royse City Police Department, Royse City EMS, and the emergency department staff at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Royse City for their compassion, professionalism, and tireless efforts during this difficult time. Their kindness and care will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life of Bruce “Pops” Blue. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana. A funeral service honoring Bruce's life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Brown of Beulah Land Baptist Church in Haughton. Following the service, a funeral procession will depart for the interment at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport.

While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the enduring legacy of love he leaves behind. We are grateful for the time we had with him and for the many lives he blessed throughout his journey.

Honoring Bruce as pallbearers will be Robert Moon, William Shelton, Michael Shelton, Blake Hines, Ryan Stork, Luis Lagunas, David Gladney, and Rick Brown.

Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
