Brooks Ray Montgomery

A graveside service for Brooks Ray Montgomery, 80, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd., Keithville, Louisiana.

Brooks was born on March 10, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Luther and Dewanna Montgomery and passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

He attended C.E. Byrd High School before enrolling in the United States Army, where he retired after 20 years of active duty. He was fluent in Spanish, French and Russian.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Dewanna Montgomery. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Maria Montgomery; sons, Sidney Eugene Montgomery and Peter Brock Montgomery; grandsons, Hugh Montgomery and Hudson Montgomery and sister, Elizabeth Arceneaux and husband, Tom.
