Brenda Sue Rainey

In Loving Memory of Brenda Tinsley Rainey (October 11, 1941 - June, 20, 2023)

Brenda Rainey, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, ended her earthly journey on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 leaving a legacy that will eternally be etched in our hearts. In 81 years, she lived a life filled with love, joy, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Brenda’s warm spirit illuminated the lives of all of those who had the pleasure of knowing her, embracing life with a gentle strength that touched the souls of those she met. Her love for her family and friends knew no bounds, and her radiant smile could brighten the darkest of hours.

Brenda shared an extraordinary love story with her late husband, Royce Rainey, spanning over five decades. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment. Though Royce preceded her in death, their love remains a timeless inspiration.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Roy Clyde Tinsley and Myra Ione Beavers Tinsley; five siblings, Mona Tinsley Walker Holman, Camilla Tinsley Bauldree, Percy Conroy Tinsley, David Leroy Tinsley, and Gilliam Drew Tinsley,

Brenda’s legacy thrives in the lives of her daughter, Diana Canterbury and her husband Joey Canterbury, her two grandsons who brought immeasurable joy to her days: Chris Canterbury (Brooke) and Clay Canterbury (Kelsey), and two great-grandchildren, Merritt Austin Canterbury and Caleb Royce Canterbury who were the absolute shimmering light of her later years. Brenda is also survived by her two younger sisters, Billie Joyce Tinsley Teague (Ronnie) and Judy Tinsley Bolt, dozens of nieces and nephews, and their families. In addition to her immediate family, Brenda’s memory lives on in her lifelong friends, Morris and Sue Sewell. Their enduring friendship brought immense happiness to her life.

As we bid farewell to Brenda Tinsley Rainey, let us celebrate the light she brought to each of our lives, cherishing the laughter and love that graced our days, and extend the kindness, compassion, and the timeless values that she so fervently embodied.
