A Funeral service celebrating the life of Brenda LaFaye Connell Pearson, 79, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Logansport with Rev. Timmy Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Allphin Cemetery in Midway, Texas. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time, May 20, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Logansport.
Brenda LaFaye Connell Pearson was born on March 12, 1947, in Logansport to Joyce Hanna and Larry Connell and passed away May 16, 2026.
Born and raised in Logansport where she graduated with the LHS class of 1965. She left Logansport in 1970 and moved to Fort Worth, TX where she met and fell in love with her soul mate Farmer Pearson. In the early 1980” s they made the move to Madisonville, TX to the Pearson Family Farm. This is where she lived until her retirement. While there she was the assistant librarian at the Madison County Library for 27 years where most of the children that attended the summer reading program became as she called them, “Chosen Grandchildren”, and her co-workers were family. When she retired and moved back home, she joined First Baptist Church of Logansport and was a member of the DeSoto Fire District #1 Firefighters Association, Logansport Chamber of Commerce and the Krew of Aquarius. Brenda rarely met a stranger and loved her family with her whole heart.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Farmer E. Pearson; mother and bonus father, Joyce and Clifford Duncan; father and bonus mother Larry and Jean Connell and nephew, Jody Warren.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Duncan R. Duncan (Mandy); brothers, William Connell and Michael Connell (Janice); sister, Lona Lee (Kevin); grandsons, Dillon Duncan (Brittany), Jacob Duncan, Zach Mayfield (Destiny),and Kamon Parker (Alex); great grandchildren, Alyssa, Damon, Caelum, Raelynn, Aria, Boone, Whitley and Abel; along with special friend Lisa Lee and numerous other nieces, nephews and other family members with lots of “Chosen Family”.
Honoring Brenda as pallbearers will be Cody Lee, Mark Magee, DW Wheless, Eric Wheless, Jody Matthews and Ronnie Mills.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are DeSoto Fire Dist. #1 and the Deacons of First Baptist Church Logansport
