December 22, 1933 - April 18, 2015 Braxton "BB" Haire passed away April 18, 2015 at Willis Knighton Pierremont. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield; services will be Tuesday at 10 at Wallace Baptist Church. Bro. Jeff Jinks will officiate, assisted by Bro. Benny Alford. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Wallace Baptist Church Cemetery. BB was born in DeSoto Parish to Braxton and Bethel Haire, deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Lane Haire, and former wife, Barbara Haire. BB enlisted in the U.S. Air force in 1955 and served for eight years. After the service he was employed by Penrod Drilling Co. and Rowan International Oil Company. During his career he worked as an electrician, rig mover, and barge engineer. His work carried him all over the world. He has many life friends from his working days. BB cared deeply for his family and friends. After retirement he moved from Lafayette to the community of Wallace. He loved his community and church, where he served as treasurer for thirty-one years. He served as chairman of the Board of Deacons at Wallace Baptist Church for many years. BB had a wonderful sense of humor, always teasing and joking with family and friends. He had a special nickname for everyone. Survivors include his wife, Madeline Haire; one son Bruce (Amy) Haire; daughter Cheryl (Darrell) Nichols; daughter Susan Haire; and Sister Beth Hill. He is also survived by four grandsons, Caleb and Braxton Haire and Joshua and David Nichols; and one granddaughter, Ashley Haire; two great grandchildren, step-daughter Sharon (John) Bedingfield; Sheila (Richey) Runnels; and Shelley Bass; and 3 step-grandsons; and a host of friends and extended family. Pallbearers will be Braxton and Caleb Haire; Joshua and David Nichols; Terry and Byron Savill. Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of Wallace Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Wallace Baptist Church Building Fund, or to Clara Springs Baptist Camp.
