Brandi Newsom, age 43, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at her home in Cottonport.

Brandi found the greatest joy in caring for others, especially her children and grandchildren. She was the heart of her family, always ready with a kind word or helping hand. Whether she was rocking a baby to sleep, cheering from the sidelines, or simply sharing quiet moments, her love was steady and unconditional. Her nurturing spirit touched everyone she met, her home was a place of comfort, laughter and love. She leaves behind a legacy of selflessness, strength, and deep devotion to family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Eric Newsom of Cottonport; daughter, Katie (Gavin) Dauzat of Bunkie; sons, Joel (Natalie) Newsom of Cottonport and Martin (Cheyenne) Donaghey of Bordelonville; parents, Joel & Victoria Hemphill of Cottonport; sisters, Hope (Jake) Parrish of Bunkie, Jilianne (Dustin) Bonnette of Cottonport, and Samantha (Johnnie) Sellers of Cottonport; mother-in-law, Charolette Bowman of Moreauville. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Dominique Donaghey, Maverick Donaghey, and Mia Mayeaux.

She was proceeded in death by her maternal aunt, Patricia Mayeaux.
